Each year, York Regional Police Association honours the contributions and legacy of Sergeant Frank Edwin Laskoski through our bursary program. Frank Laskoski served as an officer with York Regional Police for 24 years. During his time as an officer, he was also an active member with YRPA serving in the positions of President, First Vice-President, and Second Vice-President.
On June 5, 1988, Frank’s life was tragically taken when he was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 9. Frank was survived by his wife Marilyn, and two children Drew and Donna.
In honour of Frank, YRPA established the Frank Laskoski Bursary. The bursary program is designed to assist the children of YRPA’s members that are pursuing post-secondary education, and are involved in their community, either through volunteer work, participation in sports activities or extracurricular activities.
Applications for the 2024 Frank Laskoski Bursary are now being accepted. The deadline for submissions is Friday, August 2, 2024.
